My Mum Called Alzheimer’s is a heartfelt memoir chronicling the author’s journey through her mother’s battle with dementia in the final 4 years of her life. In a diary of intimate dialogues between mother and daughter, we glimpse into the challenges of caring for someone you love, coming to terms with losing them, and finding strength in cherishing the moments that remain. The touching account of the interaction between the author and her mother sends a strong message about keeping a balance, maintaining dignity whilst coping with the effects of the symptoms of dementia and the need to make the best of what we still have. It is a story of love, resilience, perseverance, and hope.
