Despite international conventions and the efforts of organizations such as UNICEF, many children in Africa remain victims of abuse and exploitation. This innovative study examines the representation of these scourges in two contemporary African novels: ＂Journal d’une bonne＂ by Dissirama Boutora-Takpa and ＂La petite fille des eaux＂, coordinated by Florent Couao-Zotti.Through an in-depth analysis of these works, the author highlights how contemporary African literature denounces the growing non-respect of children’s rights and its devastating impact on individual and societal development.Combining thematic, sociocritical and narratological approaches, this book sheds a striking light on one of the most pressing issues of our time.
