In this first journal of the Sacred Pathways series, The Desert Walk invites us to listen for Our Lord’s voice in the stillness of the desert as we begin a journey through the 40 days of Lent to the glory of Easter.

By stepping into the silence of the desert, we experience a much-needed respite from the clamor and chaos of the world. Spending a few quiet moments with Jesus can bring healing and restoration, soothe concerns, and quiet any discontent that lies within us. The 40-day journey will help us progress from an outer life of doing, to an inner life of abiding with the Lord. By using the power of contemplative prayer, we can encounter the living Christ and begin to foster a deepening interior life, which may yield beautiful fruit in due season.
