As a leader, you already know that designing DEI initiatives that have a measurable impact is imperative. However, you also know that the path toward an anti-racist, purpose-driven culture is riddled with potential pitfalls that can lead to DEI programs that are, at best, ineffective or, at worst, harmful. Throwing more money at the same old programs and initiatives will not lead to achieving racial equity or addressing anti-Black racism, and will result in a failure to uphold the promises and pledges made in the summer of 2020. So, where do you go from here?
This book goes beyond general DEI approaches that shy away from addressing racial equity. It provides concrete examples and targeted questions that will enable leaders to effectively assess their current racial equity work and devise a course of action to take their racial equity efforts to the next level while avoiding common pitfalls.
