When Answer-Pray Alcius writes poetry, his goal is simple: to pen each line with the reader in mind, no matter what his subject or theme.

Roses and Wine: I've Had Better includes forty-eight of Alcius's inspirational, emotionally charged poems. Understanding that life is an intricate weave of different views and complex relationships, Alcius refuses to be pinned down to a single theme. Instead, his evocative free verse poems cover topics as wide ranging as love, religion, courage, humility, heartbreak, and heroism.

Intertwined among his collage of poems are multiple drawings, bringing each poem to life while providing a foundation for understanding each verse. Included are twenty-four inspirational quotes, all written by Alcius and designed to bring insight into specific aspects of life.

Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Answer-Pray Alcius moved to the United States when he was eight. He is a graduate of Seminole State College and now attends the University of Central Florida.

Alcius began writing at age fifteen and has since written hundreds of poems and inspirational quotes. He published his first poetry collection, A Poet’s Tone of Heart: From My Heart to Your Sight, in 2014.
