Anthony Aquan-Assee, MEd, graduated from the University of Toronto with a bachelor of science and four years later received a bachelor of education from Nipissing University in North Bay, Ontario. In 1997, Anthony was in a motorcycle accident and slipped into a coma for two weeks. In the year 2000, he received the prestigious Courage to Come Back Award from the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health in Toronto.
Anthony went on to graduate from the University of Toronto with a Master of Education. He is the author of Second Life, Second Chance: A Teacher’s Chronicle of Despair, Recovery, and Triumph, Starting Over: A Survivor’s Guide, and a fantasy novel titled Vendeka’s Creed. In 2009, Anthony won an Eric Hoffer Award for Independent Publishing. His writing is influenced by "seeing the light" after a near-death experience. He works in Toronto, Canada, as a teacher, author, and motivational speaker.
