Quality is the Mantra of this century though quality has been all the while the modern concept is only about two centuries old the mainstay of recent quality management are process documentation and measurement Several quality Gurus have contributed to the development of quality movement There are several approaches to achieve and there many quality tools to measure Third party accrediting organizations are there to assess and certify the applying institutes. In the first part all these subjects are covered in brief in the second part features of quality in service organizations with special emphasis on health care The challenges and the means to address them have been discussed.
