This Gospel of Matthew is written in EasyEnglish Level A. EasyEnglish is plain, simple English, written in short sentences using a limited vocabulary. There are several levels of EasyEnglish to suit readers with different abilities. Level A (1,200 word vocabulary) and Level B (2,800 word vocabulary) are the ones most used for Bible translation. Matthew had been a man who received money for the government. Jesus chose Matthew to belong to the group of his 12 special friends. Matthew wrote about the things that Jesus taught. And he wrote about the great things that Jesus did. God had promised to send a special man. Matthew showed that Jesus was that man. Men killed Jesus but God made him alive again. After many days, Jesus went from the earth to be with God.
