Caylith and her friends are on the run after arriving home to find her ancestral villa burned and her mother captured or killed. Now the sixteen-year-old must escape the forces of the Duke of Deva with her armsman Fletcher and her best friend Brindl to a most unlikely place—the land of Faerie, which she had thought existed only in fanciful tales.
Caylith starts a regimen of combat training with Brindl and the marine forces and soon discovers she has a certain power over the plants. Using her new-found skills, Caylith and the friends she meets in Faerie go back to Britannia on a life-altering mission. Through magic like Walking Between Worlds and Owl Sight, she and her friends must confront those who have brought sorrow and destruction to her world.
