Jamal King has been on a life-long journey – a conquest of sorts – to discover exactly what it means to be truly “free” in such a non-gay world and to find at least one other human being as proud and “free” as he. In a bold and uncharacteristic move, he sets out to confront his bubbling overflow of questions for straight-up answers.

With the help and support of his best-friend, Kendra Smith, Jamal launches Curriculum; a group/forum type of platform where he along with other members of the community could discuss issues of the black gay community and bring about some understanding. It only takes a hot minute for Jamal to come to grips with his own reality, to learn that his idea of freedom and truth is not universal, and to understand that for some – like Damien Carter, Jr., Jamhar Brown, Daphne, and Simon – one size does not fit all.
