Brankamp

In Occupied Refuge, Hanno Brankamp challenges the view of refugee camps as a indispensable safe havens. Drawing on fieldwork in Kenya’s Kakuma camp, he shows that humanitarian missions often function as militarized occupations that treat camp inhabitants as colonized subjects.
