Brumett

Thomas D Brumett was born in Sullivan County Indiana in 1924. During World War II he served aboard the USS Conway, a Fletcher-class destroyer, as a Fire Controlman. After the war, he earned a master’s degree from Indiana State Teachers College (now ISU) and went on to complete his graduate work at Indiana University, which enabled him to receive his superintendents license. His dedication to education and his profession enabled a rewarding and extensive career. In his earliest position, from 1948-’52, he served as a high school teacher and coach at Kinmundy, Illinois and then as a supervising principal at Wayne Township School in Fulton County Indiana. He served as superintendant for Caston School District from 1959-’65 and then at the North Spencer School Corporation from the time of its inception in 1965 until his retirement in 1990.
