Alfred Hacopian, MBA, teaches business communication at Glendale Community College (GCC). For over 12 years, Alfred has taught business communication, ESL, and civics classes in the multi-cultural Glendale community. As a mortgage banking professional with over 20 years of work experience, Alfred offers hands-on experiences in business communication to his students eager to learn practical skills needed in the "real world." With his extensive background in business intelligence and management, Alfred is an advocate of connecting written business messages with the underlying facts and data elements. A strong believer of collateral learning, Alfred teaches business communication in the context of such business topics as personal finance, real estate, and investment. Born in Tehran, Iran, Alfred is fluent in Armenian and Farsi. He attended California State University, Northridge and Pepperdine University. Linda Serra teaches business communications at Glendale Community College (GCC). She has been with GCC for 42 years in various capacities, beginning with office support positions and then working her way into administrative and teaching positions while raising a family and earning her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at California State University, Los Angeles. Linda held the position of Staff Development Officer at GCC from 1996 through 2000, which entailed the organization and management of all professional training programs for classified, academic, and administrative staff. She also served as Business Division Chair from 2000 through 2011. In this position, Linda was responsible for the management of the entire business division, including the division budget, curriculum development, and supervision of approximately 100 faculty and staff. She continues her career as Business Professor and Assistant Chair at GCC. Linda holds a Real Estate license from the State of California Department of Real Estate. She is a very strong advocate for vocational education, staff development, and career advancement, and enjoys teaching to diverse student populations. Born and raised in Glendale, California, Linda attended Glendale Unified Schools, Glendale Community College, Pasadena City College, the University of California, Los Angeles, and California State University, Los Angeles.
