Piled raft foundation has been widely used as the foundation system for high-rise buildings and mega structures located on sites consisting of soft soils. With the developments of modern technologies, the piled raft foundation can be now analyzed rigorously using the three dimensional Finite Element Method (FEM). Although FEM is powerful, for simplicity in routine design practice and time concern in Performance Based Design (PBD), the methods of approximate computer modeling became typically important to the engineers. There are still a lot of research work in need to establish the goals of completeness and excellence. With these concerns, the co-editors decide to host an International Symposium on Design and Analysis of Piled Raft Foundations. The date of the Symposium is September 12-13, 2017 and the venue of the Symposium is at the Int. Convention center of Tamkang University in Taiwan. There are 19 papers invited which includes the works of ISSMGE TC212/TC305/ATC18 Chairs. Eleven of the articles are related to Design and Analysis, seven of them are related to Testing, Construction and Monitoring. The last one is a special report on advance of Japanese geotechnical technologies on this topic. All the articles collected are presented by Chapters in this book entitled Design and Analysis of Piled Raft Foundations - 2017.
