Desiree Lane

Desiree Lane is abused for a long time. The abuse is overlooked and covered up by her family. She grows to resent her mother and attempts to establish a relationship with her long distance father. The story goes deeply into the dynamic established between her paternal father and she. He is quite the elderly statesman and she the gullible precocious youth that is always easily placated.
