The health of the human population is decreasing dramatically because of the chronic illness due to changes in the modern lifestyle. These lifestyle changes are leading to a condition known as Metabolic Syndrome, which possibly is one of the most common conditions in modern western life.The underlying metabolic issue is hyperinsulinaemia.. The four main conditions associated with metabolic syndrome are type 2 diabetes, hypertension, obesity and hypercholesterolaemia. Other conditions are cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, sleep apnoea, fatty liver and PCOS. This book looks at the underlying metabolism that can lead all to these conditions.
