Athletics is considered to be the integral part of the Great Olympic Games started in the year 1896 in Athens (Greece). Athletics contains two major events viz., Track and Field. The sport of track and field athletics, in the form we recognise it today, dates back little more than a century. But the roots of athletics history go back thousands of years. The equivalent of track and field events originated almost with the beginning of man.
