When Teresa Khol moved to a new town she was expecting to start fresh building a new life for her and her son. But shortly after arriving, an unexpected drought happens, and her son’s progressing illness takes a turn for the worst. Instead of finding the support she was hoping for, she became the town’s outcast, seen as the source of the town’s problems. As she struggles to navigate this new reality and to revive her child, she learns self reliance in her fight to survive her own personal drought.
