Prevalence of porcine cysticercosis and risk factors for Taenia solium taeniasis among pork consumers in the city of Ouagadougou. Objective: To determine the prevalence of porcine cysticercosis at the Ouagadougou cold-storage abattoir and identify risk factors for taenia solium taeniasis among pork consumers in the city of Ouagadougou.Material and methods: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study conducted from January 2022 to April 2023 at the Ouagadougou refrigerated abattoir and among pork consumers in the city of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. The survey took the form of an online and face-to-face questionnaire. All data were entered, processed and analyzed on Epi Info, version 7.2.4.0 and Microsoft Excel version 2019.Results: A total of 4,923 pigs were inspected during the study. The overall prevalence of porcine cysticercosis at AFO using the post-mortem inspection technique was 1.4%. This relatively low prevalence may be explained by the sensitivity of the technique used and also by the number of carcasses defrauded.
