Michael John Fennick was born in Stamford, CT in 1950, forever tagged a member of the Baby Boomer population. There he received his primary and secondary education, but left his desired degree in the field of Fine Arts as incomplete when a lottery supporting the Vietnam War military draft ended student deferments. His lucky number was 14. An avid sports participant, he highly regards the relationship of preparation, teamwork, winning and losing to the understanding of everyday life while continuing to play beach volleyball on the sand of Hermosa Beach awaiting an intrinsically inevitable and final relocation to Maui, Hawaii. With thorough appreciation for his childhood years, he began to realize the negative effect that the cold cast by winters had on his personality and the call of California beckoned him to settle there in 1974. For nearly thirty years, he held a position of Development Project Coordinator in aerospace for Textron Systems until his retirement in May, 2013. His interest has always involved artistic creativity and he now attempts to satisfy that yearning with a newfound love in the composition of the words, paragraphs and sentences that lead to the authoring of books. His first undertaking began as a one time printing for his daughter, friends and family, but was well received and published in November, 2013. That novel entitled PLAAAYBALL! is written as what he defines as his "hidden autobiography". Its pages transform the recollections, observations, conversations and opinions that formed his own life and translate them though created characters into a baseball story; a game that gave him enjoyment in youth. Imagination has brightened his world and challenged him with a repressed desire to market a novelty in 2006. This most recent publication of "The Ongoing Saga of SLEIGHFRAMES" is the story of that journey, accented by a nostalgic Christmas theme. His writing style varies from traditional and his reasons for limited chapters and intentional run on sentencing reflect that risk. He attempts to offer his opinions, but through a series of questions left unanswered and proposed maybes, leaves the reader to conclude their own solutions. His works, spiced with humor, emphasize his life formed value system realized from his own experiences, solutions and failures. Ambition will author additional books, but the desire for their existence after his passing and not necessarily their sale is his motivation. Several future works are pending.
