Theresa Flerx experienced early life in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. She traveled back and forth across the country, living in New Jersey, Virginia, Michigan, Massachusetts and California while married to a radio talk show host. After divorcing in 2001, she earned an associate’s degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement with a 4.0 GPA, and was named in the National Dean’s List. Flerx is currently working toward a bachelor’s degree and beyond. While training at the Sacramento Police Academy, an injury ended her aspirations of becoming a police officer. Theresa currently lives in West Virginia where she worked for several years as a reporter for the West Virginia Daily News. Winner of the 2006 Best Photography News Award from the West Virginia Press Association Better Newspaper Contest.
