History remembers them as refugees, but their journey reveals something far more profound. When more than a million Sindhis were torn from their homeland Sindh, they carried with them not just memories, but time itself-past, present, and future held together with remarkable determination.

Refugees - THE TIME TRAVELERS is Susheel Gajwani’s tribute to this extraordinary ability of a displaced people to move through time with grace. Though uprooted, they refused to let time scatter them. Instead, they gathered their past-their culture, language, rituals, humour, enterprise-and carried it forward with care. In the harsh conditions of the Valivade refugee camp in Kolhapur, they learned to shape the present with resilience and discipline, refusing to surrender to despair. And from that fragile present, they dreamed boldly of a future where their identity would not only survive, but shine anew.
