Yet these heroes have become pariahs. Their lives are a living hell. Snowden is a refugee in Russia, Assange in an embassy, Manning was in prison, Stéphanie Gibaud and many others are in a precarious situation, attacked in endless trials and abandoned by governments.

Using concrete examples from France and abroad, the author details the lives of some fifty whistleblowers and the reasons why states, politicians, the judiciary, Europe and corporations are out to get them.
