Holidays are the times that draw lovers and families together, except when war tears them apart. 

Newlyweds Ellie and CJ Reynolds have every expectation of living happily ever after. Indeed the upcoming year shows promise with the news of a baby due. But a dark shadow crosses the lovers’ lives when the Gulf War erupts just as CJ completes basic training.

Ellie fears her life is becoming frighteningly similar to the story of her own parents. Her father was killed in Vietnam while she was in her mother’s womb. 

Tensions increase as the holiday season progresses. Will CJ be home on the special days, or when the baby is born? Will he come home at all?
