The concept of culture has gone through different decades and meanings, ranging from cultivating something to being synonymous with developed civilisations. However, armed and literary wars have made this concept a little broader. Thus, with the development of anthropological studies, we finally had a very comprehensive meaning for culture: all of humanity’s production. A certain resistance to this definition on the part of the elites inspired a group called the Centre for the Study of Contemporary Culture to develop Cultural Studies. Understanding Physical Education as a production of humanity, the aim is, through a historical review, to understand how cultural arenas act on our object of study.
