Through a history of blood-shed and sin fled a peoples, a nation, punished for their crimes. Those that survived the unholy wars left. Hid. Rebuilt. But the terrors of history survived and have landed on the unprepared shores of Matheryn.

In a southern city of Matheryn a young man named Nicolai becomes enraged, after holding back years of anger, and commits a terrible crime. In punishment for his crime his spirit is pulled across worlds to the prison lands of Ramos. There he is met by a god-like creature named Galen who charges him with three mundane seeming tasks. Once Nicolai is returned to his body he completes the tasks assigned to him. But unexpected doors begin to open and Nicolai soon finds himself pushed in a direction he cannot fully fathom. One where a sword is needed. One where he must face demonic horrors the world has not seen for many, many ages.
