Jay Almon

My book of poems represents a journey and a mental exercise. As a songwriter I felt the need to exercise my mind in the task of writing words that rhymed. I was reminded that athletes exercise physically to get better at what they do. I made a pledge to myself that I would not retire to sleep without writing at least 12 lines of something. Not knowing what each day would bring, this brought about a challenge to each days end. Some days the thoughts and ideas would come quickly and on others it would be a little more difficult.This book is a result of that dedication, perseverance and determination. It is my hope that the poems I have written may inspires someone to do greater things with their life.
