Dr. J. Sivakamavalli is an Associate Professor in the Biotechnology Division under the Department of Orthodontics at Saveetha Dental College & Hospitals, India. She holds a Ph.D. in Animal Health from Alagappa University and a robust academic background, including Biotechnology and Bioinformatics from Bharathidasan University. Dr. Sivakamavalli has a diverse research portfolio, with postdoctoral experience at National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, and Bharathidasan University. Her research spans molecular biology, bioinformatics, and marine science, where she has made significant contributions. She has led several funded projects supported by TARE, Conference Grant (SERB & ICSSR) & SPG-POWER grants from DST-SERB, focusing on marine microorganisms, quorum sensing, and anti-biofilm activity.

Dr. Sivakamavalli has earned numerous accolades, including the INSA Visiting Scientist Award (2022 and 2024) and the ICAR Hackathon Award (2022). In addition to her research, she has been instrumental in organizing 24 conferences and workshops. As a reviewer for various academic journals, Dr. Sivakamavalli’s professional influence extends to advisory boards and collaborations with both industry and academic institutions. She is deeply committed to education and mentoring, guiding Ph.D. students and contributing to the academic development of her field through numerous collaborations and initiatives.

Dr. Balu Alagar Venmathi Maran is currently serving as an Associate Professor at Nagasaki University, Japan. Prior to this, he held the position of Associate Professor at the Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), for six years. He has also worked as a Scientist at the Korean Institute of Ocean Science and Technology (KIOST), Busan, South Korea, and as a Research Professor at Chonnam National University and Kyungpook National University in South Korea. Dr. Maran brings over 30 years of academic and research experience in the fields of marine science and aquaculture. His core expertise lies in the taxonomy of marine fish parasites and the use of natural products for parasite control in aquaculture. He has also made significant contributions to research on fish immune responses to parasitic infections, tetrodotoxin analysis in parasites, jellyfish biodiversity, harmful jellyfish toxins, and the extraction and application of jellyfish-derived collagen in cosmetic and biomedical fields. Currently, Dr. Maran is engaged in an interdisciplinary marine science and technology project that utilizes artificial intelligence for biological imaging and data analysis, aiming to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of marine species identification and ecological monitoring. As principal investigator, he has led numerous nationally and internationally funded research projects focusing on marine biodiversity and parasitology. His research excellence has been recognized through multiple awards and gold medals for innovation and scientific contribution. Dr. Maran is actively involved in the academic community as an editor or guest editor for various international journals.
