Joshua Rex

A man returns home for the first time in eighteen years to attend his estranged father’s funeral. But, when he arrives, he finds himself haunted not by the memory of his father, but by what took place in the old stone ruin behind his childhood home.

Cody Rugger finds the house he grew up in run down, his mother the same depressed subservient woman, and his father’s car in the same mint condition. The ruined house in the woods beyond the backyard—known locally as ‘The Whisper House’—is also just as it was when Cody left home. But, when Cody learns that the state has plans to tear it down, he is confronted by the need to re-explore a past he had planned on leaving sealed for good.
