Two caseworkers will stop at nothing to keep the children in their care safe

Child caseworker Cameron Springer and John Quint, her supervisor, have none of the high-class glitz and glamour of your typical storybook heroes, but when they are assigned three tricky cases involving children in possible danger, they go to extreme lengths to make sense of the murky circumstances and shady characters surrounding these fragile families. As they move between Tampa courtrooms, where they must contend with attorneys, mothers, and a judge, and the shady alleys of Suitcase City, where they find themselves tracking and confronting a violent assailant, they must dig deep to play multiple roles. Adding complexity to their journey are Cameron’s conflicted emotions about her work and her past and John’s unexpressed feelings for Cameron. Will they manage to shield the children from harm while navigating their own feelings?
