This book covers psychosocial interventions that are commonly offered by healthcare professionals to help individuals achieve optimal physical health and psychological well-being. The first section will entail theoretical foundations of psychosocial interventions. Each chapter will address different theoretical frameworks, such as mindfulness-based, emotional training, cognitive-behavioral and resilience theories. The second section will emphasize health promotion and prevention interventions, which are important aspects of psychosocial interventions. Each chapter will be presented from an evidence-based practice perspective. The interventions are applied to different populations, encompassing father, adolescent, adult, and older adult. The last section focuses on evidence-based psychosocial interventions for people with different chronic conditions. The chapters will highlight the effectiveness of psychosocial interventions on health outcomes among people with cardiovascular diseases, HIV, chronic renal failure, stroke, and dementia.
