Leadership is a fundamental factor for the success or failure of any organization, group, community, or nation. This book explores how to build effective leadership that will enhance or fast-track growth and development at national and organizational levels. Scholars and development experts have identified failure of leadership by Africa’s ruling class as the major cause of the continent’s lag in development. The book is the outcome of a study set out to explore the connection between bad leadership and underdevelopment challenges faced on the African continent and to propose a solution to the problem. It proposes the development of transformational leadership culture as an ethical intervention to solve these challenges that have kept sub-Saharan Africa from achieving its development potentials.
