Jenny doesn't come from a lot of money, in fact her family is poor. She is forced to wear hand-me-downs from her older brother and sometimes has to shower at school because they don't have money to pay the hot water bill. Jenny finds herself a constant target of bullying. She is called names and even has trash thrown at her. When she writes a note to her lab partner she immediately regrets it. The bullying gets worse and just the thought of going to school makes her feel sick to her stomach.
