Philip Hughes was born in Dallas Texas into a large family-four brothers and one sister. Each child was home schooled by their mother at an early age. When his mother threw the family T.V. in a dumpster, Philip’s forms of entertainment grew sparse. All that was left was the family library and his imagination. So, when he cracked open The Hobbit at the tender age of six, his love for fantasy blossomed. He began to create his own stories inspired by the books he read-sticks became his swords, birds became dragons, and cardboard boxes became his castles. When he began studying creative writing at SMU, it was the stories of his childhood that stirred him to write Miraclist. Philip still lives in North Dallas where he spends his time writing the rest of the Miraclist series.
