James’ mission was routine-survey a deep-space sector and return home. But when space debris crashes into his ship and sends it hurtling onto the surface of an uncharted planet, survival becomes his only goal. But the planet is far from empty.

Scattered across the alien landscape are strange figures that do nothing but stand still...and blink. James names them Blinkers. They never speak, never move-except for their slow, rhythmic blinking. Always watching. Always closer than they were the day before.

At first, he dismisses them as some kind of passive wildlife or an illusion brought on by stress. But as his days stretch into weeks, the Blinkers begin to invade more than just his line of sight. They infiltrate his dreams, his memories, his sense of self.

As the Blinkers close in on him, James is forced to confront a terrifying possibility: his chance at escape may disappear entirely if he isn’t rescued soon.
