As a mother with an empty nest, Laura was carving out a new life for herself. During a trip to Mexico, she made a spontaneous decision that would take her way out of her comfort zone and send her life in an unexpected direction. With no riding experience, she bought a scooter in a department store, and rode across the country with her partner, Karl, who rode a small motorcycle. They visited amazing places off the beaten path and met wonderful people, while dodging potholes and dead monkeys, and getting soaked in the rain.
