The United Youth Space Corps Gap Year Program!

It was supposed to be a gap year internship with little adventures.  The ordinary kind of adventures; safe ones, ones that gave the interns maximum experience credentials without any risk to their lives.  Your typical traveling the universe doing a series of meet and greets with a scattering of sightseeing and a sprinkling of a few good deeds. 

Instead, within days of boarding the ship, the interns are floating adrift in space after a virus renders the adult crew in comas.  Civilization closes its doors to them.  Their story is doomed until a stowaway offers the interns a quest of hope.
