A book about friendship, helping and not judging others by appearance, in which our two heroes, Monkey and Bean, return to the wilderness to help their friend Dinosaur rescue an egg from the clutches of ’Turd Bird’.
This is the third book in the ’Adventures of Monkey and Bean’ series. It follows on from ’Dinosaur Footprints’ though reading that book is not necessary to pick up the story that unfolds.
The book contains 22 full page water colour pictures showing Monkey and bean travelling through the wilderness with inspiring views of lakes and mountains. A fun element is introduced through Turd Bird who smells and leaves giant piles of poo everywhere. The book makes a subtle attempt to educate children to not judge others until they know them.
All characters in the book are gender neutral hopefully ensuring that the book will appeal to all.
The book can be read by just focussing on the illustrated pictures or the story can be read in full to the child by an adult.
Three educational questions are included at the end of the book to support learning.
