Luis Ricardo Murillo-Hiller is an expert on the lepidoptera of Costa Rica. He is the founder of the Research Laboratory in Butterfly Breeding at the University of Costa Rica, and a former curator of lepidoptera at the Zoology Museum of the same university. Today he devotes his time to teaching, research, and writing.
