In this alternative-history earth where the average person can gain superpowers, there are three types of people. Normal people, called Norms, don’t have powers. Duds tried to get powers and failed becoming mutant humans with horrible deformities. They are shunned by society. Supers have superpowers, and many reach the heights of fame and fortune.

SafeCracker is an aging supervillain specializing in bank heists. With times changing and age slowing SafeCracker down, Gene, the supervillain’s head henchman and friend of forty years, tries to convince his boss to retire, but a new team member has other plans.

Carmella - young, ambitious, and attractive - fills SafeCracker’s head with dreams of a comeback crime spree that threatens to ruin everything. Faced with two possibilities, SafeCracker must choose between lifelong friendship and the possibility of One More Score.

This 30,000 word novella is set in the Mystic Realms multiverse, a vast reality of interconnected worlds and parallel timelines united by the mystic energies that flow like rivers of unseen power permeating all things and everyone. The heroic characters who wander these realms are the proponents of destiny. They have the ability to manipulate the mystic energies, and their actions can change the patterns of existence.
