Platitude is a quiet mountain town where time seems to stand still. Children chase lightning bugs under starry skies, and lavender perfumes the air each spring. But beneath the serenity, shadows stir-demons swarm to blot out the sun and steal an entire generation into darkness and despair.

Tasked with a mission unlike any before, Aegeus, a warrior of the King, must lead a team of angels to Platitude. Their goal is to protect twelve humans, each bearing burdens that weigh heavily on their souls. Among them, it is whispered that one may be a prophet.

To help the twelve uncover their true identities, Aegeus must also confront the secrets of his own heart. As danger closes in, he learns that both the fate of the humans and his own survival depend on a bond he never expected-one that might break him or bring salvation.
