This book is a collection of poems, illustrations and a collection of thoughts on the journey of unlearning, relearning and learning of an African girl/woman.The subjects touched upon in this book concern the seasons of being and growing between bridges; spirituality, rebirth, black feminism, environmentalism, colonialism, abuse, intersectionality, womanism, self-love, self-hate, healing, decolonization, family, love, nature, self-care, self-perseverance I hope this book feels like a familiar place for you too or that you enjoy the journey of another person’s route towards their own becoming.

May S. Nakyanzi is an author between many bridges. A Ugandan, raised in Denmark and currently living in Brazil. She is constantly seeking to create a home between many forms of existence. She runs a blog on www.boxyprojects.com, where she explores everything from starting a green garden on a Brazillian farm to identifying intersectional self-care methods and practices of decolonisation. She is currently plotting her next book and learning how to turn this year’s mango harvest on the farm, into delicious jams and vegan nice-creams.
