In a distant past, in Eastern Kongo, young women were cast away by their families when they became pregnant before marriage. They were brutally thrown on an island in the middle of Lake Kivu, in the Great Lakes region of Afrika. Idjwi Island welcomed them. Some survived, some didn’t. How did this all start?
