Introduction

Last summer, I had two spare e-trike battery racks (I cut the lower parts and the photos show racks with batteries).
I joined them empty back-to-back and thought I’d make an artistic bird feeder with them, as it would make the few birds in the garden happy. I didn’t know much about birds or squirrels, but I learned what they needed over the summer.
In the end, I made eight bird feeders, two of which are ’Long-Johns’ and the colourful one is the Winter Palace. I put one of the ’Long-Johns’ up for the squirrels, because they had previously damaged a few bird cages. The squirrel’s ’Long-John’ cage has two bird feeders with different food, an open top and a small emergency exit at the bottom.

This is how my adventure with birds, squirrels and cats started. Please note, all the birds in this book were free, even if they look inside a prison and I was allowed to take their picture and look after them.
I wrote the main text in one go. I think my mood was up and down a lot, and I think that my sense of humour is also reflected in the same way. My girlfriend helped me with the text as much as she could.
