Despite its historical significance and the presence of Baker University, Baldwin City, Kansas has experienced an economic decline in recent years. In addition, rural population loss has long been a concern for communities across the United States. Slowing population growth rates and migration can create severe problems for rural areas and wreak havoc on their economic stability. To mitigate these issues, this book argues for increased tourism and promotion of Baldwin City’s history to address the declining trends, which could serve as a significant driver of economic growth. It also aims to identify rural communities’ current and future population trends, specifically focusing on Baldwin City, Kansas.
