This collection of essays edited by Ohlig (Religious Studies and the History of Christianity at the U. of the Saarland) and Puin (research associate at the U. of the Saarland) investigates the allegedly foggy origins of Islam. Drawing from new archaeological evidence, such as the earliest known reference to Muhammad on a coin from the Christian era, the contributors reveal the Christian origins of the Islamic faith.
