Swift Current City owes its existence to the little creek that meanders through the grasslands of southwestern Saskatchewan. Its shimmering surface has mirrored the progress of the last hundred years, flowing through periods of immigration, settlement, prosperity, depression, and war. The creek reflected thirsty antelope, guzzling steam locomotives, drifting mallards, and measured the lengthening shadows of maturing elms. We are still drawn to its enduring presence where children fish and swim, errant golf balls splash, artists muse, and lovers stroll hand in hand.
