A few years ago, German children’s book writer Ms. Libiya moved to Shenyang for a long-term stay due to her husband’s work relocation. The family has a passion for food and has always observed the people and their lives here with an open and objective attitude. Neighbors, colleagues, their child’s Chinese teacher, and the owner of a local restaurant they frequented all became their ＂＂guides＂＂ to understanding Chinese cuisine and culture. Differences in perception and language never stopped them from exploring the diverse array of restaurants scattered across Shenyang’s streets, alleys, city centers, and suburbs-giving rise to the fascinating culinary adventures featured in this book. Driven by curiosity and a desire to understand, they continuously tried and experienced, gradually coming to appreciate and love the local food, the people behind it, and the culture it represents. Through their writing, they convey an authentic China, building a bridge for cultural exchange between China and the world.

几年前，德国儿童书作家李碧雅女士随丈夫工作调动来到沈阳长居。一家人爱好美食，始终以开放、客观的态度观察这里的人和他们的生活。邻居、同事、孩子的中文老师、经常光顾的家常菜馆老板都成了他们了解中国美食和中国文化的＂领路人＂。认知和语言方面的差异从未阻止他们走进遍布沈阳大街小巷，城中市郊的、风格迥异的餐馆，由此也诞生了本书中有趣的美食奇遇故事。因为好奇、不解，他们不断尝试、体会，进而了解、喜欢这里的美食和美食背后的中国人、中国文化，用文字传递真实的中国，成为中外文化交流的桥梁。

Rabea Maria Glotz has a deep passion for languages and expression, and is fluent in multiple tongues. As early as high school, she began writing poetry in German, English, Italian, and French. Shortly after completing her degree in translation, she moved to China for the first time with her still very young family of three. Fascinated by life, language, and culture in China, Rabea, along with her husband and their four daughters, relocated there for the second time in 2019. Inspired by China’s beautiful, captivating, and rich culture, she soon published a trilingual (German, Chinese, and English) children’s book about Chinese culture, as well as a book about her family’s culinary adventures in China, which has been released in both Chinese and English editions. Rabea hopes to build bridges between different cultures, connecting people through books and bringing them closer together.
