Speaking continuously in English class... an exercise that is often difficult for students who do not have this language as their mother tongue. In addition, some students have low self-esteem... How can this problem be remedied? This question raises many questions. At what point do we consider that a student lacks self-esteem? How can we improve students’ self-esteem when speaking continuously? Based on these questions, we have tried to find a tool that could promote the development of good self-esteem in students. Could the European Language Portfolio be a suitable tool? This self-assessment tool was introduced by the Council of Europe in 2001. How could the European Language Portfolio help students develop good self-esteem and feel confident before speaking continuously in English class?
