Reuteler Ph. D.

The Class Meeting was the heart of Methodism. It was also the method for Christian Discipleship. In early Methodism, every member had to be in a Class Meeting. It was required. Today, membership in a small group is voluntary. This booklet tells the story of how the Class Meeting developed and how David Watson updated the Class Meeting into Covenant Discipleship Groups. It is intended to be a guide for those who want to be involved in small discipleship groups.

Dr. Reuteler holds a B.A. in the Humanities from Texas Wesleyan University, a B.D. in New Testament and Systematic Theology from Candler School of Theology, and a Ph.D. in Christian Social Ethics from Emory University. In addition to being a Dempster Scholar, he served congregations in Texas, Georgia, and Wisconsin. He also taught at the Methodist Theological School in Sibu, Sarawak (Malaysia) and currently lives with his wife Barbara in Aurora, Colorado.
